The following is a list of books relating to guinea fowl. All of the books shown are ones that I have read and recommend to others. If you know of a book that is not listed and I will be adding some historical and entertainment references in the future. Please be patient, finding information on guineas isn't easy!

Guinea Fowl by Van Hoesen & Stromberg available from Smith Poultry and Gamebird Supplies One of the best available books for the backyard guinea enthusiast. A lot of the information is old and not very well organized, but is still a helpful and interesting book to have. A must have for any guinea fowl owner.

Gardening with Guineas by Jeannette S. Ferguson ISBN 0-7392-0250-2 First printing 1999. Contains information on raising guineas on a very small scale. Most of the information is from the author's first-hand experience raising guineas.

Raising Turkeys, Ducks, Geese, Pigeons and Guineas by Cynthia Haynes ISBN 0-8306-0803-6 (hardcover) 0-8306-2803-7 (paperback) TAB Books, P.O. Box 40, Blue Ridge Summit, PA 17214 Out of print, may be available by special order The chapter on guineas is only 26 pages, but it has a lot of good information including feed and space requirements. Used copies are sometimes listed for sale on Ebay.

Upland Game Birds, Their Breeding and Care By Dr. Leland B. Hayes ISBN 0-9633196-2-0 Written by one of the recognized experts in the field of gamebirds, this book has sections on vulturines and crested guineas.

Guinea Fowl of the World By R.H. Hastings Belshaw ISBN 0-947647-20-1 Nimrod Book Services, PO Box No. 1, Liss, Hampshire, GU33 7PR, England A very detailed, informative book on guinea fowl. Includes color photos of many different species of guinea fowl, information on backyard and commercial production, history, and much more. Out of print, but may be available from used book dealers.
