I recently bought two yards of hot compost (already composted) and coated the floors of the outside runs with it about 6 inches to 1 foot deep, I insulated the birds from it with pine shavings. If there were any parasites left (test shows there weren't) My theory was to accelerate the deep litter theory and cook any unfriendlys in the ground with hot compost. I suspected I had it right, now confirmed (for my place anyway) and it is the reason I asked what everyone else was doing.
