I started with deep litter, brown leaves and pine straw last fall with a layer of lime underneath it all. Sprinkled NOT food grade DE throughout the coop also. As that wore down, I added brown leaves, pine needles, straw, DE, and pine shavings in the damp areas. At the beginning of this summer after a winter in the coop, I crushed up a whole bag of pure charcoal, mixed with lime and DE and put about a 1/4 inch layer throughout the coop. At one point in mid winter I did dust the inside coop with Sevin dust for mite prevention. I used this product sparingly. I have also dissolved DE in water and sprayed the inside coop lightly. I did worm them in February and repeated the process after any parasites or worms would have passed (after the second Fenbednazole treatment) Being in the sunlight helps prevent the growth of the organizms. Then I supplemented thier water and diet with ACV and garlic.
that's about it... I keep everything as dry as possible.
